A lady miraculously survived a ghastly road accident involving five vehicles on the Otedola Bridge in Lagos this morning.
The lady identified simply as Toyin was pulled out alive from the wreckage of a pick-up van she was riding in by emergency workers, despite the fact that it was completely crushed and trapped between two heavy duty vehicles.
The white Toyota Hilux marked, KRD 797 XN, was trapped between an articulated truck and a luxury bus.
Her unidentified companion, who drove the van, died on the spot.
The accident had brought traffic to a standstill on the bridge till around noon today.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) had consequently advised motorists to seek alternative routes via its official Twitter handle, @followlastma, after the road was closed to traffic.
One of the tweets read: “This accident involves a containerized truck, a pickup and a high capacity bus as well as several cars. Casualties still trapped in the pickup. The road is totally blocked for now. Emergency agencies are on ground.”
