Melaye Imprisons Self as Police Lay Siege to Abuja Home

Malik Yahya/

The lawmaker representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye, has locked himself up in a room after scores of policemen invaded his Abuja residence this afternoon.

The invasion of the lawmaker’s home located at 11 Sangha Street, off Mississippi, Maitama, took place some minutes after noon.

The street where his house is located has been cordoned off by security operatives, who are also preventing journalists from coming near the lawmaker’s residence.

Police are yet to give any reason for their action.

Melaye had raised the alarm a few days ago over an attempt by the Federal Government to assassinate him.
