Masari: 333 Students Missing after Katsina School Attack

Malik Yahya/

Katsina State governor, Aminu Masari, has confirmed that over 300 students are missing following an attack on Government Science Secondary School, Kankara.

While receiving a federal government delegation led by the national security adviser, Babagana Monguno, today, the governor said 333 students are still missing.

Gunmen had invaded the school in the early hours of yesterday, abducting several students.

The school is said to have a population of around 800 students.

Police said some of the students scaled the fence to escape during the attack.

Spokesman of the Katsina State police command, Isah Gambo, had earlier disclosed that 200 students who escaped the attack have been found.
