This incident occurred at the Dogonruwa Area of Woro in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, yesterday.

The suspect was alleged to have engaged his brother in a fight following a minor disagreement and used dangerous weapons.

It was further gathered that during the fight, Abdullahi was inflicted with machete cuts in various parts of his body which led to a loss of blood.

He reportedly died as a result of blood loss before he got to the hospital where he was taken for treatment.

The state spokesperson for the corps, Babawale Afolabi, who confirmed the incident, said that Umar was arrested after the incident and handed over to the police for investigation.

Babawale said, “In the early hours of Friday, our divisional office in Kaiama received a distress call that two brothers were engaged in a deadly fight, using dangerous objects such as a rod and cutlass and that one of them was unconscious due to loss of blood. We arrived at the scene of the incident promptly. But the victim died before he could reach the hospital.’’

Babawale also said that the remains of the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary of the hospital he was taken to.
