The Police in Lagos today disclosed the arrest of a man who allegedly defiled and infected his two-year-old daughter with a sexually-transmitted infection.
Lagos police spokesman, CSP Chike Oti, says in a statement that the incident occurred at 9 Oyetayo Olafisoye Street, Westwood Estate, Badore, in Ajah.
He said the suspect, Peter Adada, was arrested on Saturday after tests conducted on the victim, who was sick, revealed that she had contracted an undisclosed STI.
Oti said after systematic questioning by the investigative officer, the victim made gestures that confirmed her father had been defiling her sexually.
Oti also disclosed the arrest of a security guard, Abdullahi Garuba, in Oshodi for allegedly having anal sex with some young boys in the area.
The statement reads: “The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Langbasa Police Station, SP Ada Okafor on 17/11/2018, arrested Peter Adida of No.9 Oyetayo Olafisoye Street, Westwood Estate, Badore, Ajah, Lagos for allegedly defiling his two-year-old daughter.
“Preliminary medical report indicated that there was penetration and that the baby is infected. When questioned by the female officer on who did it, the baby pointed out her father and was able to describe various sex positions with dad.
“In a related development, the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command is investigating one Abdullahi Garuba, 58, a security man attached to Oshodi Isolo Local Government Secretariat for allegedly defiling two minors.
“Troubled started for Abdullahi Garuba, when concerned citizens who couldn’t understand what business he had with little boys that trooped in and out of his security post which also doubled as his residence, leaked information to the mothers of two little boys, ages 13 and 11, when they saw them coming out of his abode, at 2 pm on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
“The children were questioned by their respective mums and they confessed that the suspect had been having anal sex with them. The matter was thereafter reported for investigation at the Gender Section of the Command.
“The Lagos State commissioner of police (CP) Imohimi Edgal, has directed that the matter is transferred to the Gender Section for further investigation. He admonishes parents and guardians to watch their children closely as predators are on the increase.”
