NewsmakersNG learnt that the man, identified as Idowu Sikiru, had placed a pan over fire. When it was red-hot, he sat his son, Segun, in it and also used it to burn the boy’s mouth and fingers as punishment.

Police were reportedly alerted to the incident by neighbours in their Oke Soppen area of Ijebu Igbo residence.

Police spokesman in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the victim is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

He added that the suspect had been transferred to anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.
