Makinde Vs Adelabu: Supreme Court Delivers Judgment Today

Ololade Adeyanju/

The Supreme Court is set to deliver judgment in the appeal filed by Adebayo Adelabu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), against the victory of Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 9, 2019 election in Oyo State.

Adelabu had approached the court to challenge the appeal court ruling which affirmed Makinde’s victory in the election.

NewsmakersNG learnt that all parties in the suit had earlier submitted their addresses.

Lawyers from both camps confirmed that the Supreme Court, apart from hearing the case and adopting addresses, may also deliver judgement today, as it did in the case of Ademola Adeleke versus Gboyega Oyetola in the Osun State governorship election dispute.

NewsmakersNG recall that the apex court also did same in the appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar of the PDP against the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC in the 2019 general elections.
