Former Commissioner of Police (CP) in Benue and Lagos states, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, has been appointed as Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
According to a statement from the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the appointment, took effect from August 1.
The statement indicates that Owoseni’s appointment falls in line with the recognition of security as one of the four pillars of the Makinde administration in Oyo State.
Makinde had also pledged to unveil a new security architecture for the state before his first 100 days in office.
The Governor, in the letter of appointment, wished Owoseni, who has been working as a security consultant since his retirement from the police after 35 years of service, success in his new assignment.
Makinde also urged Owoseni to discharge his duties with absolute loyalty and dedication.
Born on August 17, 1962, Owoseni retired from the Nigeria Police Force earlier this year.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Benin and a Diploma in Police Management (DPM) from the University of Jos, as well as several certificates in police and professional courses at the local and international levels.
