Nigeria’s former agriculture minister, Akinwunmi Adesina, who was reelected President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), began his second term in office today on a prayerful note.
Adesina, who was reelected AfDB President by an absolute majority, yesterday, prayed to God for wisdom and humility in a post he shared on Twitter.
He also prayed that Africa will thrive and prosper during his tenure, while rounding off by asking God to “make Africa shine”.
Adesina, in another tweet, expressed gratitude to everyone who supported his reelection bid.
He wrote, “Today, I was sworn in for my second 5-year term as President of the African Development Bank. I just wanted to say a VERY BIG ‘Thank you’ to all of you for your extraordinary support, prayers and good wishes. May God bless each and everyone of you!”
