There are conflicting reports on the fate of a major abducted in the early hours of yesterday by bandits who raided the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Afaka, Kaduna State.
Major Christopher Datong was kidnapped during the raid that left two other military personnel dead and one injured.
The officer was widely reported to have been killed by the bandits two hours after his abduction, despite demanding a N200 million ransom for his release. But military authorities have neither confirmed nor denied the reports.
The other officers killed during the attack were identified as Lieutenant Commodore Wulah and Flight Lieutenant Okoronkwo.
The injured officer, who has not been identified, is reportedly being treated at a hospital within the barracks.
