London Police Arrest Ekweremadu,Wife for alleged Human Trafficking to Harvest Organs

Former Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Barrister Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka have reportedly been arrested in the UK over alleged human trafficking.

Fifty-five-year-old Beatrice and her 60-year-old husband, according to Skyy News were remanded in custody and would appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court today.
They were charged with conspiring to bring a child to the UK in order to harvest organs, the Metropolitan Police said.

Charges were brought against the pair, following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime team.

A child has now been safeguarded.

The investigation was launched after detectives were alerted to potential offences under modern slavery legislation in May 2022, the force said.
