London Brief/
A man and woman have been arrested after police were alerted to a report of a couple allegedly engaging in sexual activity in a car in Tilgate Park.
Crawley police officers went to the park, off Tilgate Drive, on Friday morning, July 19 to make the arrests.
Police have not said which car park the man and woman were found in and the time of the arrest has not been revealed either.
The tweet sent out by Crawley police at 2.13pm on Friday reads: “A 33-year old man and a 28-year old woman were arrested in Tilgate Park car park this morning [Friday, July 19] after a report of a couple engaging in sexual activity in a car.
“Both were arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency and the man also on suspicion of being drunk in charge [of a vehicle].”
Police followed this up with a tweet to praise the local community around Tilgate for reporting concerns to officers.
“These arrests were possible thanks to the support of the local community who we are happy to serve,” it said.
Anyone who wants to report an incident in Crawley should call Sussex Police on 101.
