A member of the House of Representatives, representing Sumaila/Takai federal constituency of Kano State, Garba Durbunde, has been kidnapped by unknown persons.

It was gathered that Durbunde, who was alone in his car, was abducted on his way to Kano from Abuja, on Tuesday.

The incident happened around 5pm along Kaduna-Jere road.

Abdulrazak Namdas, spokesman of the House of Representatives, however, said he was not aware of the incident.

“I am not aware of this but I was told some papers have carried it,” he told newsmen.

Another lawmaker, who asked not to be named, confirmed the incident.
