The Lagos State University (LASU) Alumni Association has congratulated Mr. Tunji Rilwan Disu on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police, describing his elevation as a proud moment for the institution and a testament to the power of academic excellence in shaping national leadership.
In a statement issued on behalf of the association, the National President, Mr. Norrison Quakers (SAN), lauded Disu’s dedication, professionalism, and record of disciplined public service.
Disu, an alumnus of LASU, holds academic qualifications in English Education, Public Administration, Criminology, Security, and Legal Psychology, a multidisciplinary background the alumni body believes has equipped him for the demanding responsibilities of leading the Nigeria Police Force.
According to Quakers, Disu’s intellectual foundation and field experience position him to drive critical reforms within the Force, strengthen public trust, and improve service delivery nationwide.
“As you lead the Nigeria Police Force, we are confident that your expertise will drive reforms, boost public trust, and enhance service delivery,” the statement read.
The association described his appointment as a milestone achievement not only for the Force but also for LASU, noting that it underscores the university’s capacity to produce graduates who shape institutions and contribute meaningfully to national development.
“This appointment is a proud moment for LASU, showcasing our alumni’s ability to shape institutions and drive national progress,” the statement added.
The alumni body wished the Acting IGP wisdom, courage, and success in steering the affairs of the police at a critical period in the country’s security landscape.
The statement concluded with the association’s rallying call: “We are LASU, We are Great.”
