Lagos Set to Host Ajibulu Descendants’ Historic Homecoming, Lecture on Community Development

The Adisa Ajibulu Descendants Union, Mafoluku, Lagos, will on Thursday, July 16, 2026, host a grand public lecture and reunion aimed at celebrating family heritage while promoting community development and leadership.

The event, scheduled to hold at Welcome Centre Hotels, Airport Road, Ikeja, marks the union’s first-ever public lecture and commemorates the 20th memorial of the family’s patriarch, Alhaji (Hon.) Mustapha Adisa Ajibulu, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly who represented Oshodi-Isolo Constituency between 1979 and 1983.

The lecture, themed “Sacrificial Leadership and Community Development: Yesterday’s Heroes, Today’s Players, and Leaders of Tomorrow,” is expected to attract prominent political leaders, traditional rulers, business executives, and members of the Ajibulu family from across Nigeria and the diaspora.

Former Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Leye Oyebade (rtd.), Chairman of Rontol Group of Companies, Lagos, will deliver the keynote address.

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, is expected as the Special Guest of Honour, while the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon. Dr. Kehinde Al-Maroof Oloyede, will serve as the Special Guest.

Among the distinguished guests expected are Hon. Dr. Bashiru Ayinde Dawodu, member representing Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives.

The Olu, Onigbedu, Soluade I, HRM Oba Matthew Ayinde Ajibulu is the Chief Host.

The event will also witness the participation of other royal fathers, including the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Abeokuta, HRM Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola FNSE Oluyalo, Otileta VIl; the Olu Itori of Egbaland, Olunla Agbodere 1, HRM Oba (Dr) Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, and the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, Alagbeji III, HRM Oba Isa Abiodun Olakunle Adejuwon Faronbi-Sekoni, underscoring the cultural significance of the gathering.

Organisers said the programme is designed not only to honour the legacy of the late Alhaji Mustapha Adisa Ajibulu but also to inspire a new generation of leaders committed to selfless service, grassroots development, and stronger community values.

The union noted that the lecture would provide a platform for meaningful conversations on leadership, civic responsibility, and sustainable development while strengthening family bonds and preserving the rich heritage of the Ajibulu lineage.
