Lagos Police Mourn DCP Khan Salihu, Hail His Legacy of Service

The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Khan Salihu, who served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration before his passing on Monday, June 15, 2026.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Command described the late senior officer as a disciplined, dedicated and highly professional policeman whose contributions significantly strengthened the administration and operational efficiency of the Command.

The statement noted that DCP Salihu served the Nigeria Police Force with “exceptional professionalism, loyalty, and integrity,” adding that his leadership qualities, diligence and commitment to duty distinguished him throughout his career.

According to the Command, the news of his death came as a profound shock and painful loss to officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, on behalf of officers and personnel of the Command, extended condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and loved ones of the deceased.
The Command prayed for God to grant the family the strength to bear the loss and for the repose of the late officer’s soul.

The statement further described DCP Salihu as a humble and selfless officer whose dedication and commitment to national service would continue to inspire members of the Force.

“DCP Khan Salihu will be fondly remembered for his dedication, humility, professionalism, and selfless service to the nation and the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement said.
