A suspected serial killer known as Tiny has given the former Lagos State police spokesman, CSP Chike Oti, a big break in his new posting.
According to the police, Tiny, whose real name is Ibrahim Abdullahi, had been on the run since he allegedly murdered three Lagos residents.
The new Lagos police spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana, revealed in a statement today that Tiny and four other felons landed in police net, following a special operation ordered by the Commissioner of Police (CP) Zubairu Muazu.
Elkana stated: “A notorious cultist, Ibrahim Abdullahi aka Tiny, whose name sends shivers down the spines of residents of Satellite-Town, Lagos, was arrested shortly after midnight (0030hrs) of March 23, 2019, at his hideout in the Ijegun-Egba area of the town during an operation led by the Divisional Police Officer of Satellite-Town Division, CSP Chike Oti, to rid the community of the violent activities of criminals.
“It will be recalled that the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu mni, had earlier in the week charged Area Commanders DPOs and Tactical Unit Commanders in the state to clamp down on the activities of members of unlawful societies and raid all identified criminal enclaves.
“Based on this directive and credible intelligence received about Ibrahim Abdullahi aka Tiny, who had been on the run since he was linked to the murder of three residents of the community, Satellite division swung into action.
“The said Tiny was arrested alongside one of his accomplices, Obinna Kelvin Okey, 23.
“During a preliminary interrogation, they confessed to belonging to a cult group called the Aro-Bagger aka Vickings.
“Other cultists arrested during the operation include: Ismaila Adebayo, 21, Bode Akodo, 21 and Adefesun Abdulwahab, 25 – all of Eiye Confraternity.”
NewsmakersNG learnt that the CP has directed the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, to take over the case involving Tiny, which has to do with an ongoing investigation on the three murder incidents linked to him.
Elkana said that the other suspects were transferred to the Command’s Anti Cultism Squad for further investigation.
Elkana also mentioned a related development, in which one Stephen Egbe, identified as a notorious traffic robber who specialized in robbing commuters along Mile 12/Badagry Expressway, was caught in the act on March 23, at about 10:05 pm, at Mosalashi Bus stop, near Maza-maza, by detectives of Satellite Town Police Division.
The State’s Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) has been directed to take over the investigation.
All the suspects arrested will be charged to court, says Elkana in the statement.
