Publisher of the Vanguard, Mr Sam Amuka, has applauded the efforts of the police in tackling crimes in Lagos.

The veteran journalist particularly commended the commissioner of police, Mr Imohimi Edgal, for his approach to policing the state, which has “engendered unprecedented peace and security”.

Amuka who paid a visit to the command headquarters in Ikeja today also urged the police boss not to rest on his oars.

“I am here to appreciate you for the good work you are doing in Lagos State. Your work speaks for itself and the people of Lagos are proud of you. Keep it up,” Amuka further said during the visit.

Edgal described the gesture as a rare honour and thanked the publisher for finding time to visit the command headquarters despite his tight schedule.

He assured the visitor of the continued commitment of officers and men of the command to ensuring the safety and security of residents of the state.

Edgal added: “If you have complaints about any of our activities in the state, kindly feel free to criticize us. Such criticisms will be highly welcomed and taken with all seriousness. We will consider them as fatherly advice. We will take whatever advise you throw our way and use it to improve on what we have done so far.”
