The police in Lagos have arrested 150 suspected criminals and recovered 100 unregistered motorcycles, firearms, likely stolen property and illicit drugs during a major raid on criminal hideouts across the Igando-Idimu axis as part of the ongoing Operation KO S’AYE.
The early morning operation, carried out at about 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, followed credible intelligence that hoodlums had been using several locations around Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando and other black spots within the Area M, Idimu jurisdiction as operational bases.
According to the Police, a joint team of officers drawn from different formations of the Command stormed the identified hideouts in a coordinated clearance operation aimed at dismantling criminal networks and restoring public safety in the area.
The operation led to the arrest of 150 suspects believed to be involved in various criminal activities.
Items recovered during the raid included 100 unregistered motorcycles, 54 mobile phones, one double-barrel gun, two single-barrel guns, one locally fabricated double-barrel short gun, two military camouflage uniforms, assorted charms, six generators suspected to have been stolen, substances suspected to be Indian hemp, and various quantities of other illicit drugs.
Police authorities said all the suspects remain in custody while investigations continue to determine their individual roles and level of involvement in criminal activities.
The Command stated that those found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Commending the officers for what he described as their professionalism and dedication, the Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain Operation KO S’AYE across Lagos.
He said the operation would continue to target criminal hideouts and ensure there is no safe haven for criminals anywhere in the state.
Fatai also appealed to residents to support ongoing security efforts by providing timely and credible intelligence capable of helping the Police identify criminal enclaves, arrest offenders and strengthen public safety.
The Command urged members of the public to promptly report emergencies and suspicious activities through its designated emergency lines.
