Lagos LG Poll: Gunshots Reported in Mushin

Segun Atanda

The local government election was marred by violence in some parts of Lagos State as gunshots were heard at some polling stations around Odi-Olowo, in Mushin.

There were also reported cases of ballot box snatching in the same area.

Eyewitnesses said political thugs were also seen moving around the area to scare voters away from polling units.

The PUNCH earlier reported crisis at Agege Local Government Secretariat after agents of the opposition parties in the state found ballot papers in one of seven commercial buses in front of the secretariat.

According to the report, two occupants of the vehicle ran away after the ballot papers were discovered by the opposition party agents.

The agents are, reportedly, accusing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of trying to rig the election.
