A suspected land speculator in Lagos State, Saheed Mosadoluwa, popularly known as “Ibile of Harmony Estate,” is at the center of a violent confrontation involving two police officers who were allegedly manhandled while on official investigation in Ibeju-Lekki.
The officers, ASP Adeseko Joseph and ASP Sanni Ozeigbe, were attacked by Mosadoluwa’s men during a probe into allegations of land grabbing and threats to life.
The officers had been dispatched to investigate a petition against Mosadoluwa involving his alleged harassment of landowners in the area. However, their mission was abruptly interrupted when they were accosted and assaulted by Mosadoluwa’s thugs. The attack, which left both officers injured, have escalated tensions between the accused and law enforcement.
Police sources revealed that the officers were acting on a formal complaint involving Mosadoluwa’s forceful takeover of land belonging to the Oni-Orisan family, among others. The family accused the land speculator of using violence and intimidation to claim land in the area, including the brutal assault of their matriarch, Chief Mrs. Dupe Oni-Orisan Damazio.
Mosadoluwa, who claims to have 41 armed police escorts, has been publicly defiant, boasting on social media that no one can arrest him. In a post on Tik Tok, he further accused the police of trying to extort ₦150 million from him for the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, a claim the police have vehemently denied.
Despite being declared wanted for his refusal to cooperate with investigators, Mosadoluwa remains brazen, threatening to challenge the police in court and declaring that he will no longer pay bribes to officers. His alleged connections with top-ranking police officials have only fueled suspicions that his operations in Ibeju-Lekki are protected by corrupt elements within the force.
