Lagos COVID-19 Cases Reach 5,392, as Nigeria Records 241 New Infections

Lagos State which is the epicentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria now has a total of 5,392 cases, after recording 142 of the 241 new infections confirmed today by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The number of cases in the state is now about half of the total of 10,819 cases recorded so far in the country.

According to the state government’s projections, COVID-19 cases in the state is expected to peak at 120,000 by the end of August.

NCDC in its daily Twitter update also said 3239 patients have so far recovered from the disease while 314 have died.
