Full identity of the American man who survived a bloody attack once linked to Badoo cultists in Ikorodu, Lagos, has been revealed today.

Mr. Robert Bob Wheeler is an American Professor and the Dean at School of Business and Economics (SBE), University of Management and Technology, in Pakistan. He once worked with the Tony Elumelu Foundation in Nigeria as a consultant in 2015.

Tony Elumelu Foundation was set up to empower Africa’s entrepreneurs.

Mr Tony Elumelu whose foundation had engaged Mr Wheeler in 2015.

The man who tried to kill Mr Wheeler on August 25, 2017, is now in police net after almost three weeks on the run. A video that has been circulating on social media shows the American egghead soaked in his own blood after his attacker, who turned out to be his driver, had cracked his skull with pestle.

Further investigations by Newsmakers, through the victim’s LinkedIn page, revealed that Mr. Wheeler had worked as a corporate attorney in major firms in New York City and Washington, DC. He served as the Director of MBA Admissions at Georgetown University, and as Assistant Dean and Director of the MBA Program at The Pennsylvania State University. He was the Chief Operating Officer for Executive Education at the University of Texas at Austin and was a member of the faculty at Penn State and Texas, teaching Business Communications.

Mr. Wheeler was also the Chief Operating Officer for the Aga Khan’s University of Central Asia based in Kyrgyzstan (responsible for construction of three campuses of the university in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan).  He was a consultant to the Tony Elumelu Foundation in Nigeria on a new business school, and he also helped develop the curriculum for an online entrepreneurship curriculum for a major initiative that promoted entrepreneurship across Africa.

Mr. Wheeler holds a Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University and a Masters in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
