Lagos APC Members Display Mock Coffin, Declare Aregbesola Politically Dead

Femi Ashekun/

A rebellion was witnessed today at the political base of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, whose candidate was defeated in the APC governorship party primaries in Osun State yesterday.

A procession of APC members was seen carrying a coffin with the Minister’s name on it.

Aregbesola began his political career at Ward C1, Alimosho Local Government Area from where he was discovered by APC leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The party members took to the streets pronouncing Aregbesola, politically dead.

In a viral video shared on Twitter, the youths are seen carrying a mock coffin, while mourning Aregbesola’s political death.

The development followed Aregbesola’s fallout with Tinubu, his erstwhile political godfather and APC national leader.

Alimosho is reputed as the largest local government in the state and has for long been considered Aregbesola’s political stronghold where he has also built many structures, with a market named after him.
