Lady in Police Net after Online Lover Slumps, Dies on First Date

Femi Ashekun/

A young lady has found herself in police net after a man she met online slumped and died in the bathroom of a Lagos hotel during their first date.

According to the spokesman of the Lagos State police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who shared the incident on Twitter to advise the public against meeting privately with people they barely know, the lady in question is currently being investigated for possible homicide.

He also disclosed that the lady, who travelled from her base to Lagos to meet with the deceased, was also pleading with the police to keep knowledge of the incident from her parents.

Hundeyin however did not disclose the identities of the lady and the deceased.

His tweet reads, “Be wary about privately meeting people you barely know. A lady travelled down to Lagos to meet up with someone she only met online. In the hotel room, the man made for the toilet, slumped and died. Lady is begging not to let her parents know. Homicide case? Be careful, folks.”
