Two siblings Chiamaka Ifezue and Emeka Ifezue, were yesterday arraigned before an Enugu Magistrates’ Court in Enugu State, for the alleged murder of a makeup artist, Ijeoma Nweke.

The prosecution alleged that Chiamaka conspired with her brother, Emeka, to kill Ijeoma for having an affair with her boyfriend.

During the hearing, it was revealed that Chiamaka lured the deceased by inviting her for a makeup job on November 11, last year.

When the deceased demanded for the address, she was asked her to come to EBS bus stop (a popular bus stop in Enugu), from where she would be taken to the place.

Along the line, the deceased felt uneasy about the arrangement and decided to alert a friend that she might be in danger.

She reportedly included the phone number of the person who invited her for the job in the message.

That was the last time anyone heard from her until her lifeless body was found where it was abandoned in the city six days later.

The prosecution alleged that the two siblings forced the deceased to drink a poisonous substance before they proceeded to pour a substance, suspected to be acid, on her.

An eyewitness, who was also present in court, testified that it was in his presence that Emeka poured acid on the body of the deceased and afterwards dumped her corpse at the Maryland axis of Enugu Metropolis.

Chiamaka’s boyfriend was also present in court as a witness for the prosecution.

The case was adjoined till February 24, 2021.
