After it had become almost certain that its candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial District election, Smart Adeyemi, has won yesterday’s election, the All Progressives Congress took to its Twitter handle to mock the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dino Melaye.
In a post on its verified handle, @APCNigeria, the party wrote:
“All of the 16 Senators that defected from APC to PDP and made frantic efforts to frustrate the Buhari’s admin from 2015 to 2019 are all finally out of the Senate.
“Senator Dino Melaye was the last on that list…
“No man! We repeat… No man can stop an idea whose time has come!”

Melaye in an online video has however rejected the election result, citing widespread irregularities and violence.
