The Killer Squad Nabbed in Ogun: Ibrahim Uthman, Aba Abdulkareem and Abdulhamid Ibrahim

The police in Ogun have held three suspects in connection with the murder of a couple in Sagamu area of the state.

Seventy-two-year-old James Olaosebikan and Esther Olaosebikan, 68, were allegedly murdered by unknown assailants on June 30, 2019, in their house at Kilometer 54 Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Sagamu.

According to their son, Joseph Olaosebikan who reported at Sagamu Police Station, the assailants accessed the house through the ceiling and butchered his parents with a machete.

Upon the report, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Bashir Makama ordered the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Sagamu, SP Okiki Agunbiade, to fish out the killers within the shortest possible time.

Ogun State police spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi told NewsmakersNG that in compliance with the CP’s directive, the  DPO and his men embarked on technical and forensic investigation of the case and their efforts yielded positive result on July 12, 2019, when three members of the gang namely – Ibrahim Uthman, Aba Abdulkareem and Abdulhamid Ibrahim were apprehended.

Oyeyemi said, “On interrogation, they confessed that they were members of a robbery gang and that one of their members, now at large, invited them for the purpose of robbing the deceased as well as a nearby shop. But on getting to the house, they discovered that the couple recognized one of them, hence they machete them to death.”

Meanwhile, CP Makama has ordered the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to take over the case for proper investigation. He also directed that the fleeing member of the gang must be brought to book within the shortest possible time.
