Two more bodies of suspected kidnappers, who had engaged the police in Abia State in a gun battle on Wednesday, have been found in the bush.
Newsmakers yesterday reported the death of two other members of the gang that kidnapped the Managing Director of Mba Hotels, in Aba.
Abia State commissioner of police (CP), Mr Adeleye Oyebade, confirmed to Newsmakers today that his men who were tasked to comb the bush all around the battle ground region stumbled on the bodies of the suspects who had escaped with bullet wounds.
The 4-man gang had also shot a detective who is battling for life at an hospital, but the kidnapped Managing Director was rescued unhurt.
Oyebade had told Newsmakers that the gang was smashed by detectives attached to Omoba Division on Wednesday, at Ovungwu, Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia.
The bandits had abducted their victim a day earlier in Osisioma Ngwa.
Newsmakers learnt that the victim, Onyemaechi Mbamaonyeukwu Ijeoma, was kidnapped in his ash-colour Nissan Infinity Jeep marked GWA 807 DH and held hostage in an uncompleted building at Umuajuju Ovungwu, Isiala Ngwa South LGA while the abductors were negotiating a ransom.
Acting on a tip off, detectives led by a DPO, swooped on the hoodlums’ den where the gang opened fire on sighting them.
During a shootout, two of the suspects later identified as Nwadibia and Monday were gunned down while others escaped with bullet wounds.
Items recovered included the victim’s Nissan Infinity Jeep, two motorcycles and four GSM phones.

It would be hard eradicating this menace but each kidnapper arrested or killed would surely send hot message to others still involved that the noose is ever getting closer than ever.
