Two wanted suspected kidnappers in Kogi State have been nabbed by the police.
Newsmakersng learnt that 24-year-old Suleiman Isah and Musa Mohammed, 31, natives of Ankpa LGA of Kogi State, were arrested following a manhunt, after they allegedly abducted one Alhaji Jibrin Idris, an Islamic scholar and Chief Imam at Enabo in Ankpa district.
The gunmen later released the cleric after collecting undisclosed amount of money as ransom.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris had ordered operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), led by ACP Abba Kyari to go after the gang.
Members of the gang were found to have run to Enugu State when IRT was on their trail.
The police told Newsmakersng that two of the suspects were eventually pinned down at Ayinba Town, in Kogi State, and 9th Mile, in Enugu State.
According to the police, the arrested suspects have mentioned two others as Bashir and Mangal.
The police also told Newsmakersng that they recovered the phone used by the suspects to negotiate the ransom.
