Kidnapped Methodist Priest Regains Freedom

A Methodist Church minister, Rev. Ajibola Onabanjo, who was reportedly kidnapped by unknown persons in Asaba, Delta State on Tuesday has regained his freedom.

The circumstances of his release remain unclear but NewsmakersNG learnt that the victim was set free unhurt by his abductors yesterday night.

The victim was reportedly on his way to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State from his base in Lagos to attend the church’s ordination retreat when he was kidnapped.

He was identified as the chaplain of the bishop of Lagos Central diocese of the church, Rt. Rev. Samuel Nortey.
