Policemen in Katsina State have intercepted a consignment of drugs being trafficked across the border in a Volkwagen Gulf car.
The state police spokesman, DSP Isah Gambo, told NewsmakersNG in a statement that the trans-border drug trafficking suspects were arrested by a police patrol team attached to GRA Division, in Katsina while on routine patrol along Sabon-Titin Kwado area of the state.
He identified the suspects and described the intercepted Gulf III Volkswagen as “red in colour with registration No. DTM 160 FB, driven by one Dayyabu Auwal of Dutsinma LGA of Katsina State in company with his cohort one Mujitaba Shitu of Maiaddua LGA of Katsina State”.
He said that the suspects had confessed being in the business of drug trafficking from Nigeria to Niger Republic through the Kwangolom border in Maiaddua LGA of Katsina State.
