The police in Katsina State have announced a change of baton in their leadership.
The state police spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, says in a statement today that a new Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Besen Dapiya Gwana, has assumed duty.
Before his posting to Katsina State, Gwana was the CP in charge of Airport Police Command.
He had served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Yobe State Command, Force Quartermaster, CP Kogi State Command, Port Authority Police Command, and Abia State Police Command among others.
The statement further says: “He is a holder of B.Sc. degree in Political Science from University of Jos and has attended various courses within and outside the country.
“The general public and members of the press can reach him through GSM number 08037871250.
“The Commissioner of Police appeals to the members of the public to partner with the police and give useful information, so that the police can serve them better and be rest assured that all information given will be treated with utmost confidentiality.”
