Katsina State commissioner of police, Mr Muhammad Wakil has embarked on a tour of 34 local government areas to solder police friendship with residents.
According to the state police spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, the CP solicited the support and cooperation of the general public toward curbing the menace of security challenges in the state.
A statement from Isah reads in part: “CP Muhammad Wakil said the aim of the visit was to ginger the officers of the command on their responsibilities and also to know the areas where they have lapses and the way forward.
“He advised parents to inculcate moral values into their children, as well as advise them to desist from political thuggery, drugs abuse, rape and other social vices.”
The commissioner gave assurance that he would give all necessary support to the police and the general public toward eradicating all forms of crime and criminal activities in the state.
Speaking during the tour at Dutsinma, the Area Commander, ACP Buhari Tukur Batagarawa and the Divisional Police Officer, Dutsinma, SP Dan Dikko Dayyabu said the rate of crime and criminalities had reduced to the lowest level through intelligence and visibility policing.”
