A military aircraft crashed today killing the pilot identified as a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) instructor.
Air Commodore Olatukumbo Adesanya, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, broke the news in a statement today. He said that the NAF Beetle Aircraft crashed in Kaduna while on a mission.
He said that the instructor was alone on the aircraft.
He added that the cause of the incident was unknown.
According to Adesanya, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, had directed the constitution of a board of inquiry to determine the immediate and remote causes of the crash.
He said, “The unfortunate incident is a tragic reminder of the hazards associated with the flying profession.
“The CAS and the entire NAF family commiserate with the relatives of the late instructor pilot.”
