A two-storey building collapsed on Wednesday evening at 4 Modupeola Street, near Mangoro bus stop in Alimosho, Lagos State, leaving six people injured.
The incident, which occurred around 6pm, drew a swift response from the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) and other first responders who rescued five people from the rubble and evacuated them to a nearby private hospital.
A 44-year-old man, identified as a resident of 10 Olabode Street, Alimosho, was trapped and later pulled out with fractures and bruises.

He was taken by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Surgical Emergency, where he was admitted in stable condition.
Officials have opened an investigation into the cause of the collapse, with structural engineers expected to determine whether faulty construction, poor maintenance, or other factors were responsible.
