The convoy of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was attacked by suspected hoodlums in Lagos today.
The incident occurred at Adeniji end of Isale Eko after the ruling party’s flagbearer visited the Oba of Lagos on his return to Lagos State after winning the APC presidential ticket for the 2023 general elections.
NewsmakersNG learnt that Tinubu was heading to his Bourdilon Ikoyi residence from the palace.
The hoodlums reportedly threw stones and other dangerous weapons at the convoy as it drove from the palace. Some of them were wielding swords and cutlasses smashing side glasses and front windshields of vehicles that were attacked.
Though Tinubu was not affected by the attack, the Lagos State Governor’s press crew bus conveying journalists and the backup security car on the convoy were the most affected.
Two journalists reportedly sustained injuries and are receiving medical attention.
The affected journalists were identified as Adeola Ogunrinde of Western Post and Omatseye Atsenuwa of Smooth 98.1fm.
TVC correspondent, Adedoja Salam, reportedly suffered shock as a result of the attack.
