Some visions are born out of ambition, while others are born out of obedience. For Minister Maureen Paul, Deep Worship belongs to the latter.
On Friday, June 13, 2026, the auditorium of RCCG Solomon’s Porch Parish came alive with songs of adoration, heartfelt prayers, and an atmosphere saturated with God’s presence as worshippers gathered for the third edition of Deep Worship, an annual worship programme initiated by Minister Maureen Paul.
The programme commenced with opening prayers led by Bro. Joshua, a friend of the ministry, setting the tone for an evening of divine encounter. Minister Alero Oke ushered worshippers into God’s presence through powerful praise and worship sessions that lifted hearts heavenward.
Pastor Samuel l Olowogorioye further blessed the gathering with a brief but impactful exhortation, encouraging worshippers to seek God sincerely and wholeheartedly.
The atmosphere then shifted into a deeper dimension of worship as Minister Odunayo Adebayo took the stage to usher in the guest ministers. One after another, God’s servants ministered in songs that stirred hearts and inspired faith; Minister Bukola Bekes, the host Minister Maureen Paul herself, and finally Minister Eroomi Akintunde, each bringing unique grace and expressions of worship.
As the evening drew to a close, Minister Maureen Paul led the congregation into a heartfelt thanksgiving session, inviting other ministers present in the house to join in worship, including Dele Ajayi popularly known as “Wamilele”, Chike Praise, and Augustine. Their collective expressions of gratitude provided a fitting conclusion to a memorable evening before the host delivered the vote of thanks and officially brought the curtains down on Deep Worship 3.0.
The Birth of Deep Worship
The story behind Deep Worship stretches back nearly three decades.
Minister Maureen Paul had served faithfully in church choirs for years, often seeing singing as a passion and a hobby. However, sometime around 1998 or 1999, while attending church in Alagbado, a prophetic word spoken by one of the pastors altered her perspective forever.
The pastor declared: “God said, for every gift I have given you, you will give account.”
The statement was not intended to instill fear but to awaken dormant possibilities and remind her of the responsibility attached to divine gifts, particularly her calling to minister in songs.
Life, however, had its demands. The responsibilities of raising children, building a family, and pursuing livelihood opportunities made it difficult to fully embrace that aspect of her ministry calling. Yet God had not forgotten His assignment.
Then came the divine instruction.
On a Sunday in April 2023, she received what she describes as a clear and unmistakable message from God: “I told you to gather My people to worship Me on a day they would not primarily go to work, so they can worship recklessly.”
The instruction came with a specific date: June 17, 2023.
There was no room for negotiation. Deep Worship was born.
Interestingly, the name had long existed in her heart because of her personal style of worshipping God passionately and wholeheartedly.
Why “Deep Worship”?
For Minister Maureen Paul, worship is not a surface activity.
“You cannot find God on the surface,” she explains.
“Deep calls unto deep.” According to her, encountering God requires surrender, stillness, and intentional pursuit.
“A worrying soul cannot truly find God. To seek His face, you must surrender yourself and your burdens to Him.”
Quoting John 4:24, she adds: “God is Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
Before anyone approaches God, she says, He already knows the intentions of their hearts. Genuine worship therefore demands authenticity, sincerity, and a spirit yielded completely to God.
Three Years of Impact
The vision behind Deep Worship has always been simple: to draw people closer to God.
As Minister Maureen Paul puts it: “When He is lifted up, He draws men unto Himself.”
That, she says, remains the greatest testimony of the programme.
Lives have been touched, souls have been drawn closer to God, and worshippers have experienced healing, restoration, and freedom in God’s presence.
“In His presence, we exchange our weaknesses for strength,” she says.
The journey has not been without challenges. Financial constraints prevented the programme from holding in 2024, coinciding with her 50th birthday celebrations.
“It should have been four years now,” she reflects, “but God has been merciful and faithful.”
Joy in the Morning
Unlike previous editions, Deep Worship 3.0 came with a theme for the very first time.
While praying and studying in preparation for the programme, Minister Maureen Paul sensed the words: “Joy in the Morning.”
The phrase was drawn from Psalm 30:5: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
The theme proved prophetic. Throughout the programme, worshippers testified to experiencing the joy of the Lord in a remarkable way.
Interestingly, she later noticed many other Christian programmes carrying similar themes centered around joy.
For her, it was simply another confirmation that God’s Spirit is one and that He speaks consistently to His people.
“Hallelujah,” she says with gratitude.
Looking Beyond Borders
While Minister Maureen Paul acknowledges that God remains the owner of the vision and determines its direction, she believes Deep Worship has only just begun.
“Wherever He leads, we will follow.”
Yet speaking from a human perspective, she sees the ministry extending far beyond its current location.
“I see Deep Worship spreading across borders to the glory of God.”
Judging by the impact of the first three editions, that vision may already be unfolding.
For Deep Worship was never merely designed to host another programme.
It was born from obedience, sustained by worship, and dedicated to drawing men and women into deeper encounters with God.
