Emails linked to the late financier and convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, allege that Bill Gates sought medical treatment for a sexually transmitted disease and attempted to hide it from his wife following sexual encounters with young women described in the correspondence as “Russian girls,” the Financial Times reported.
The newspaper said the claims appear in a collection of emails reviewed during an examination of Epstein’s network and personal communications.
The messages, which have not been independently verified, reference Gates seeking medical advice following the encounters.
Gates has previously acknowledged meeting Epstein on several occasions, describing the relationship as an error of judgement, but has consistently denied involvement in illegal activity.
Representatives for Gates declined to comment to the Financial Times on the specific allegations contained in the emails.
The report was published as the United States Department of Justice announced that it had concluded its review of files connected to Epstein.
The department said it had examined whether the materials justified further investigative or prosecutorial steps, but indicated that no additional action would be taken at this stage.
Epstein died in a New York detention facility in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
His death, officially ruled a suicide, and the handling of evidence linked to his activities have continued to fuel public scrutiny and periodic disclosures through court filings and investigative reporting.
