Iyalode Alaba Lawson Prescribes Death for Rapists

Ololade Adeyanju/

The Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson, has prescribed death sentence for rapists, particularly those engaged in defilement of the underage girls, a development that has become a menace to the Nigeria society.

Lawson made the prescription while contributing to discussions held on Penpushing Platform, over the incessant defilement of innocent girls, as well as the rape of females by a number of suspected sex maniacs, which is almost becoming the order of the day.

Chief Lawson, the Women leader in the  South-West, further declared that as a mother, she could not close her eyes to the criminality of some of the sex-addicted men, whose stock in trade is rape.

She said, “This act of rape or defilement has become rampant nowadays. I beg and appeal, on behalf of mothers worldwide, to the lawmakers to please pass a bill to execute by firing squad anyone found guilty of rape or defilement of the young female child.”

The educationist and proprietress of Alaba Lawson Group of Schools pointed out that the act of rape and defilement is worse than armed robbery. She added that in the alternative, any suspect found wanting in the crime should have their private part cut off completely.

“This act is worst than armed robbery. It will stop this nonsense. We need to curb this menace spreading like wildfire. Alternatively, the private parts of such men must be cut off completely. Rape or defilement ruins a life forever with psychological emotions,” Chief Lawson said.

She had the conviction that if Government at all levels introduce capital punishment, the menace would be completely wiped out in the society.
