Isaac Fayose, businessman and brother of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has announced the death of his wife following a battle with cancer, describing her passing in deeply emotional terms.
Fayose broke the news on Saturday via his Instagram page, where he shared a series of heartfelt posts mourning his wife and paying tribute to their life together.
In one of the posts, he shared an image of a lit candle alongside the message, “Rest in peace, my darling wife.”
In another post, accompanied by photographs of his late wife, he wrote, “Odaro oyinbo mi,” meaning “Goodnight my white woman.”
The announcement comes months after Fayose first revealed that his wife was seriously ill.
In March, after visiting his family in Australia, he shared that she had been battling cancer and was in a weakened state.
Recounting the emotional moment at the time, he said she was too unwell to receive him at the airport, a role she had always fulfilled. He explained that he had to take a taxi home instead, a stark contrast to their usual routine.
He further described how their roles had been reversed by the illness, noting that he now found himself caring for her.
According to him, she could no longer cook or speak as she once did, and he would sit by her bedside, singing her favourite songs while she held his hand.
The news of her death has drawn sympathy and condolences across social media, with many expressing sorrow over the loss.
