The Federal Government has demonstrated its resolve to proceed with the enrollment of staff of federal tertiary institutions into the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) despite the opposition of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to its adoption.

A notice published by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation today indicated that the enrollment of federal universities and Colleges of Education into the IPPIS will commence on November 25 and end on December 7.

ASUU has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike if the Federal Government insists on enrolling its members into the IPPIS, claiming that the action would violate the autonomy of universities.
