If you stay at home, you’ll be safe from coronavirus. If you stay outside, you’ll be safe from earthquake.
That’s the joke in India today as a 3.8 magnitude earthquake hits the northern part of Odisha while people are still observing government’s stay-at-home order to curb the spread of COVID-19 that has infected over two million Indians, according to official figures.
The Earthquake struck hours after an Air India Express plane flying from Dubai to Calicut with 191 passengers onboard skidded on runway and crashed into a valley killing at least 14 people, including both pilots.
The plane overshot the runway and skidded into a 30ft-deep valley at Calicut airport, in the Indian State of Kerala, at around 7.45pm (2.45pm GMT).
Natives are wondering why one disaster after another has been visiting India lately, from flood to Cyclone, draught, Coronavirus, and plane crash.
The social media is now being flooded with memes as some of the people found something funny in the conflicting directives to stay inside and be safe from COVID-19 and stay outside for safety from the earthquake.
Following the United States and Brazil, India is now the third country to cross the two million mark in COVID-19 infections, recording 62,170 cases in the past 24 hours, which takes the total to 2,025,409.
The country with 1.3 billion people has also recorded about 40, 700 deaths linked to Corona-virus.
