After taking arguments from counsel in the application by Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to review its Jan 14 decision on the Imo State Governorship election petition, the Supreme Court has announced it was going on recess to reconvene at 3pm.
The Supreme Court had sacked Ihedioha as governor of Imo State and declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the March 9, 2019 election.
A seven-member panel of justices presided over by Justice Tanko Muhammad stood down the matter for judgement this morning.
Earlier, counsel to PDP and Ihedioha, Kanu Agabi (SAN) asked the apex court to set aside the judgement of January 14 and uphold the judgement of the Court of Appeal which dismissed the petition by Uzodinma.
But counsel to Uzodinma, Damian Dodo (SAN) said the Supreme Court judgement actually set aside every decision of the Court of Appeal, adding that there was nothing ambiguous in the judgement.
