A corps member, whose family feared was among those trapped under the rubble of the 21-storey building that collapsed in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday, has been confirmed the dead.
The family had earlier today raised concerns over the disappearance of the 26-year-old fresh graduate, identified as Zainab Oyindamola Sanni, since Monday when she left home for the site of the collapsed building.
Both her mother, Aisha Oyedokun and her aunt, Monsurat Aiyegbusi, had also appealed to government to speed up rescue efforts in the hope that she could still be rescued alive.
A close family source told NewsmakersNG this evening that Zainab’s father, who was at the site of the collapsed building, broke the news of her death to the rest of the family.
The source said her corpse was however yet to be released for burial, as the government insisted on conducting autopsy on all the recovered bodies.
The source disclosed that Zainab undergoing her youth corps service with one of the companies working on the site in the hope of securing a permanent appointment.
