For bravely bearing the country’s cause and serving Nigerians diligently, four patriots have been honoured by the Ikeja Club in Lagos.
The garlands went to Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Johnson Babatunde Kokumo mni, Osun State commissioner of police and member of the Club – CP Wale Olokode, the Nigeria Police Force Medical Officer, CP (Dr) Olubunmi Ogunsanwo, and the Surveyor-General of Lagos State, Surv. Olutomi Ajose Sangowawa.
The Ikeja Club honoured the patriots at its Celebration of Accomplishments and Presentation of Awards Ceremony held on the club premises on Awolowo Road, Ikeja-Lagos.
The President of the Club, Chief Ayo Randle, showered encomium on the awardees for their exemplary services to the Club and Nigeria at large through their chosen careers. He charged them to see the recognition and awards as an additional call to serve mankind and their fatherland, Nigeria.
In his response, Kokumo, who is the AIG in charge of the Federal Operations Unit, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters Abuja, appreciated the club’s leadership for the honour and special recognition. He then charged other club members to contribute their quota to national development and effective policing of Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
In the same vein, the club decided to approve the honorary membership for the Area Commander Area F, Ikeja, ACP Ali Zongo, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the SA to the Governor of Ogun State on Women Affairs, Hon Adijat Adeleye and some others at the event.
Other dignitaries at the event included the spouses of the awardees – the wives of AIG Kokumo and CP Olokode respectively, Mrs Folashade Kokumo, Mrs Olokode, senior police officers, veteran broadcaster, Yemi Shodimu, legal luminary, Yomi Omoyinmi and Mr Wu, a Chinese national.
