Members of Ikeja Grammar School Old Students Association (IGSOSA) braved the storm and downpour on Sunday, April 21, 2024, to elect officers that will lead the body for the next 2 years.
A lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Mr. Kunle Ogunbi, was re-elected as President in a peaceful and lively atmosphere inside the school hall at Oyetayo Street, Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos.
Ogunbi scored 86 votes to emerge as the winner in the election.
Other officers elected are Barr. Bolatito Jarikre (Vice President), Hassan Awofala (General Secretary), Ridwan Akinbiyi (Asst. Gen. Sec.), Bolanle Rotimi-Ayeni (Treasurer), Ifeoluwa Ishola Peter (Financial Secretary), Yinka Eyinfunjowo (Social Secretary), Temitope Olamide Ikulala (Publicity Secretary), and Adetutu Adegbola (Welfare Secretary).
Members of the electoral committee are Rotarian Dipo Kehinde (Chairman), Mr. Abayomi Owoeye (Secretary), and Dr. Adewale Adesina.
After the swearing-in, the President pledged to carry every member along as he sought the support of everyone to lift the alumni association to greater heights.
He stretched his hands of fellowship to his opponent, Prof. Femi Oloyede, a medical doctor, who is also the secretary of the Board of Trustees.
An alumnus, Mr. Tobi Abiola, who is also the honorary treasurer of ICAN described the election as the best in the history of the association.
