IGP Seeks Public Help in Locating Policeman who Claims Anyone Driving a Mercedes is a Yahoo Boy

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Mohammed Adamu, has appealed to the public for information that could help the Force track down the policeman shown in a viral video claiming that anyone riding a Mercedes Benz is a scammer (aka yahoo boy).

The unidentified policeman was seen in the video harassing a player with Eyimba Football Club of Aba, Stephen Chukwude, while threatening to arrest him because he was riding in a Mercedes Benz.

Chukwude and the policeman during the encounter

Apparently not aware of who Chukwude is, the policeman had also insisted that the player is a yahoo boy simply because he owns a Mercedes Benz.

The police in a tweet yesterday night said they required credible information about the incident to enable them investigate and apply the appropriate disciplinary measures.

The tweet reads: “The attention of the @PoliceNG has been drawn to this clip on social media, the IGP implores anyone with credible information concerning this video to avail the Force to aid investigations and appropriate disciplinary measures.”
