The outgoing Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, was among the dignitaries that welcomed President Muhammadu Buhari back to Abuja today from a 4-day official visit to Katsina.
Adamu was at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Tuesday evening for the welcome ceremony.
The event took place amid speculations that the outgoing IGP has already been replaced by an Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim, from Borno State.
Ibrahim appears as a most unlike choice because he has two years to retirement against the 4-year stipulation of the police act for any officer that would emerge as IGP.
Among other dignitaries who received the President at the airport was his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
