President Buhari meets with security chiefs.

Service Chiefs held an emergency meeting today with President Muhammadu Buhari without the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris.

Those at the meeting held behind closed doors included the Minister of Defense, retired Brig. Mansur Dan-Ali and the National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the meeting was also attended by the Director General of the State Security Services (SSS), Lawal Daura, the acting Director of the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Arab Yadam, and a police representative.

Also at the meeting were: Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Major-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas and the Chief of Air Staff, AVM Sadique Abubakar.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the IGP was away in Cartagena City of Colombia, in South America, attending the International Congress on Kidnapping and Extortion.
